- 12 oz fresh cranberries
- 1 cup sugar
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
- 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
Instructions
- Rinse the cranberries under cold water and remove any stems or bad berries.
- In a medium saucepan, combine the water and sugar over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves.
- Add the cranberries, cinnamon, nutmeg, and orange zest to the saucepan.
- Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat and let it simmer for about 10-15 minutes, or until the cranberries burst and the sauce thickens.
- Remove from heat and let it cool before serving.
Notes
- This sauce can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
- Feel free to adjust the sweetness by adding more or less sugar according to your taste.
- For a twist, add chopped nuts or dried fruits.
