A delightful Southern classic dessert that combines the salty crunch of pretzels with a sweet strawberry filling and creamy topping.
Ingredients

- 2 cups crushed pretzels
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cool whip (8 oz)
- 2 cups strawberry gelatin
- 2 cups boiling water
- 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, mix crushed pretzels, granulated sugar, and melted butter. Press the mixture into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking dish.
- Bake for 10 minutes, then let it cool completely.
- In another bowl, beat the cream cheese and powdered sugar until smooth. Fold in the cool whip.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture over the cooled pretzel crust.
- In a separate bowl, dissolve the strawberry gelatin in boiling water. Stir in the sliced strawberries.
- Pour the strawberry mixture over the cream cheese layer.
- Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until set before serving.
Notes
- Make sure the pretzel crust is completely cooled before adding the cream cheese layer.
- For a more intense strawberry flavor, use fresh strawberries instead of frozen.
- This dessert can be made a day in advance for convenience.
