- 4 lbs beef brisket
- 2 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 1 tablespoon garlic powder
- 1 tablespoon onion powder
- 1 tablespoon brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup tomato sauce
- 1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tablespoon mustard
- 1 tablespoon liquid smoke
Instructions
- Preheat your smoker to 225°F (107°C).
- In a bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, brown sugar, black pepper, and salt.
- Rub the spice mixture all over the brisket.
- Place the brisket in the smoker and cook for about 6-8 hours, or until it reaches an internal temperature of 195°F (90°C).
- While the brisket is cooking, prepare the tomato-based sauce by combining tomato sauce, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, mustard, and liquid smoke in a saucepan. Simmer for 20 minutes.
- Once the brisket is done, remove it from the smoker and let it rest for 30 minutes before slicing.
- Serve the sliced brisket with the tomato-based sauce on the side.
Notes
- For extra flavor, marinate the brisket overnight with the spice rub.
- Adjust the level of liquid smoke according to your taste preference.
- Leftover brisket can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
