Description

Coquito de almendra is a delightful twist on the traditional Puerto Rican coquito, made with almond milk and flavored with spices, perfect for the holiday season.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups almond milk
  • 1 cup coconut cream
  • 1 cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 1/2 cup white rum
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup chopped almonds (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine almond milk, coconut cream, sweetened condensed milk, white rum, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
  2. Blend until smooth and well combined.
  3. If desired, add chopped almonds and pulse a few times to incorporate.
  4. Pour the mixture into a bottle or jar and refrigerate for at least 2 hours to chill.
  5. Serve cold, garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon or additional chopped almonds if desired.

Notes

  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the white rum.
