This make-ahead cookie dough allows you to prepare delicious cookies in advance, freeze them, and bake fresh treats whenever you desire.

- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 large eggs
- 2 cups chocolate chips
Instructions
- In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
- In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
- Add vanilla extract and eggs, mixing until well combined.
- Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Fold in the chocolate chips.
- Divide the dough into portions and shape into balls.
- Place the cookie dough balls on a baking sheet and freeze until solid.
- Once frozen, transfer the cookie dough balls to a freezer-safe bag or container.
- To bake, preheat the oven and bake the frozen cookie dough balls directly from the freezer, adding a couple of extra minutes to the baking time.
Notes
- For best results, use high-quality chocolate chips.
- Label the freezer bag with the date and type of cookie dough.
- Cookie dough can be stored in the freezer for up to 3 months.
