Description

This make-ahead cookie dough allows you to prepare delicious cookies in advance, freeze them, and bake fresh treats whenever you desire.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 cups chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together flour and baking soda; set aside.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, cream together the softened butter, granulated sugar, brown sugar, and salt until smooth.
  3. Add vanilla extract and eggs, mixing until well combined.
  4. Gradually add the flour mixture to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
  5. Fold in the chocolate chips.
  6. Divide the dough into portions and shape into balls.
  7. Place the cookie dough balls on a baking sheet and freeze until solid.
  8. Once frozen, transfer the cookie dough balls to a freezer-safe bag or container.
  9. To bake, preheat the oven and bake the frozen cookie dough balls directly from the freezer, adding a couple of extra minutes to the baking time.
