Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup diced apples
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1/4 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
- 1 egg
Instructions
- In a bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5 minutes until frothy.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, salt, and cinnamon.
- Add the yeast mixture, melted butter, and egg to the dry ingredients. Mix until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread softened butter over it.
- Sprinkle brown sugar, cinnamon, diced apples, and walnuts over the buttered dough.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Let cool slightly before serving warm.
Notes
- For a sweeter roll, add more brown sugar.
- These rolls can be frozen before baking for later use.
- Serve with cream cheese frosting for an extra treat.
