- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 packet (2 1/4 tsp) active dry yeast
- 1 cup milk, warmed
- 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 2 large eggs
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup fresh or dried cranberries
- 1 tablespoon orange zest
- 1/2 cup orange juice
- 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
- 2 tablespoons orange juice (for icing)
Instructions
- In a large bowl, combine warm milk, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
- Add melted butter, eggs, and salt to the yeast mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add flour, mixing until a dough forms.
- Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place for about 1 hour or until doubled in size.
- Roll out the dough into a rectangle and spread orange juice, cinnamon, cranberries, and orange zest evenly over the surface.
- Roll the dough tightly and cut into 12 equal pieces.
- Place the rolls in a greased baking dish and let them rise for another 30 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 25-30 minutes until golden brown.
- Mix powdered sugar and orange juice to make icing and drizzle over warm rolls before serving.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use buttermilk instead of regular milk.
- These rolls can be made ahead and frozen before baking.
- Feel free to add nuts or chocolate chips for extra flavor.
