Ingredients

  • 1 pound of chicken bones
  • 2 carrots, chopped
  • 2 celery stalks, chopped
  • 1 onion, quartered
  • 4 cloves of garlic, smashed
  • 2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black peppercorns
  • Water (enough to cover the bones)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Place the beef and chicken bones on a baking sheet and roast for 30 minutes.
  3. Transfer the roasted bones to a large pot or slow cooker.
  4. Add the chopped vegetables, garlic, apple cider vinegar, salt, and peppercorns.
  5. Fill the pot with water until the bones are fully submerged.
  6. Bring to a boil, then reduce to a simmer and cook for 12-24 hours.
  7. Strain the broth through a fine mesh sieve and discard the solids.
  8. Let the broth cool, then store in jars or containers in the refrigerator or freezer.
