Description

Ingredients

  • 1 whole chicken (about 45 lbs)
  • 1 can of beer (12 oz)
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons BBQ spice rub
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat (about 350°F).
  2. In a small bowl, mix the BBQ spice rub, salt, and black pepper.
  3. Pat the chicken dry with paper towels and rub the olive oil all over the chicken.
  4. Generously apply the BBQ spice rub all over the chicken, including inside the cavity.
  5. Open the can of beer and drink or pour out half of it.
  6. Insert the beer can into the cavity of the chicken, ensuring it stands upright.
  7. Place the chicken on the grill, standing upright on the beer can.
  8. Close the grill lid and cook for about 1 to 1.5 hours, or until the internal temperature reaches 165°F.
  9. Carefully remove the chicken from the grill and let it rest for 10 minutes before carving.
