Description

A healthier version of the classic Chicken Parmesan, made in an air fryer for a crispy texture with fewer calories.


Ingredients

  • 2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 teaspoon Italian seasoning
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1 cup marinara sauce
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese

Instructions

  1. Preheat the air fryer to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, Italian seasoning, garlic powder, salt, and pepper.
  3. Dip each chicken breast in the beaten egg, then coat with the breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Place the coated chicken breasts in the air fryer basket in a single layer.
  5. Cook for 10 minutes, then flip the chicken and cook for an additional 5 minutes.
  6. Top each chicken breast with marinara sauce and mozzarella cheese.
  7. Cook for another 3-5 minutes until the cheese is melted and bubbly.
  8. Remove from the air fryer and let it rest for a few minutes before serving.

  • For extra crunch, spray the chicken with a little cooking oil before air frying.
  • Serve with a side salad or whole grain pasta for a complete meal.
