- 4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1 tablespoon instant yeast
- 1 1/2 cups warm water (110°F)
- 1/4 cup vegetable oil
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, salt, and instant yeast.
- Add the warm water and vegetable oil to the dry ingredients.
- Mix until a dough forms, then knead for about 8-10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm place until doubled in size, about 1 hour.
- Punch down the dough and divide it into two equal portions.
- Shape each portion into a loaf and place them in greased loaf pans.
- Cover and let rise again until doubled, about 30-45 minutes.
- Bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes or until golden brown.
- Remove from the oven and let cool before slicing.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can substitute some of the all-purpose flour with bread flour.
- This bread can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
- It freezes well; wrap tightly and store in the freezer for up to 3 months.
