- 1 lb ground lamb or beef
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup frozen peas
- 2 tbsp tomato paste
- 1 cup beef broth
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 4 cups mashed potatoes
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Secret ingredient: 1/2 cup of cooked and crumbled bacon
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the ground meat over medium heat until browned.
- Add the onion, carrots, and garlic, cooking until softened.
- Stir in the tomato paste, beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, and secret ingredient (bacon). Simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mix in the frozen peas and season with salt and pepper.
- Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish.
- Top with mashed potatoes, spreading evenly.
- If desired, sprinkle cheese on top.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
