Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 head of cauliflower, chopped
  • 1 lb ground beef or lamb
  • 1 cup carrots, diced
  • 1 cup peas
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 cup beef broth
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Steam the chopped cauliflower until tender, about 10-15 minutes.
  3. In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
  4. Add ground beef or lamb and cook until browned.
  5. Stir in carrots, peas, and beef broth; simmer for 10 minutes.
  6. Mash the steamed cauliflower and season with salt and pepper.
  7. Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish and top with the cauliflower mash.
  8. Sprinkle cheese on top if desired.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden brown.

Notes

  • For a vegetarian option, substitute the meat with lentils or mushrooms.
  • Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini.
  • Make sure to drain excess moisture from the cauliflower for a thicker mash.
