Ingredients

- 1 head of cauliflower, chopped
- 1 lb ground beef or lamb
- 1 cup carrots, diced
- 1 cup peas
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 cup beef broth
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup shredded cheese (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- Steam the chopped cauliflower until tender, about 10-15 minutes.
- In a skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat and sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
- Add ground beef or lamb and cook until browned.
- Stir in carrots, peas, and beef broth; simmer for 10 minutes.
- Mash the steamed cauliflower and season with salt and pepper.
- Spread the meat mixture in a baking dish and top with the cauliflower mash.
- Sprinkle cheese on top if desired.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the top is golden brown.
Notes
- For a vegetarian option, substitute the meat with lentils or mushrooms.
- Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or zucchini.
- Make sure to drain excess moisture from the cauliflower for a thicker mash.
