  • Green food coloring
  • 2 cups powdered sugar
  • 2 tablespoons milk

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a bowl, mix flour, baking soda, and baking powder.
  3. In another bowl, cream together the butter and sugar until smooth.
  4. Beat in the egg, vanilla extract, and almond extract.
  5. Gradually blend in the dry ingredients.
  6. Add green food coloring until desired color is achieved.
  7. Roll out the dough and cut into shamrock shapes.
  8. Place cookies on ungreased baking sheets.
  9. Bake for 8 to 10 minutes in the preheated oven.
  10. Let cool on wire racks.
  11. For the icing, mix powdered sugar, milk, and peppermint extract until smooth.
  12. Decorate cooled cookies with mint icing.
