  • 1 jar (32 oz) sauerkraut, drained
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 2 apples, cored and sliced
  • 1 cup chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Season the pork shoulder with salt and pepper.
  2. Place the sliced onion and apples at the bottom of the slow cooker.
  3. Layer the drained sauerkraut over the onions and apples.
  4. Place the seasoned pork shoulder on top of the sauerkraut.
  5. Pour the chicken broth over the pork and sprinkle with caraway seeds.
  6. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender.
  7. Shred the pork and mix it with the sauerkraut before serving.
