- 2 pounds pork shoulder
- 1 jar (32 oz) sauerkraut, drained
- 1 onion, sliced
- 2 apples, cored and sliced
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon caraway seeds
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Season the pork shoulder with salt and pepper.
- Place the sliced onion and apples at the bottom of the slow cooker.
- Layer the drained sauerkraut over the onions and apples.
- Place the seasoned pork shoulder on top of the sauerkraut.
- Pour the chicken broth over the pork and sprinkle with caraway seeds.
- Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or until the pork is tender.
- Shred the pork and mix it with the sauerkraut before serving.

- Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread for a complete meal.
- This dish can be made a day in advance and reheated.
