Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1/2 lb ground pork
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1/4 cup chopped parsley
  • 1 egg
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 cup mozzarella cheese (for stuffing)
  • 2 cups beef broth
  • 1 cup Guinness beer
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp thyme

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. In a large bowl, combine ground beef, ground pork, breadcrumbs, Parmesan cheese, parsley, egg, salt, and pepper.
  3. Form the mixture into meatballs and stuff each with a piece of mozzarella cheese.
  4. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat and brown the meatballs on all sides.
  5. Remove meatballs and set aside. In the same skillet, sauté onions and garlic until translucent.
  6. Add beef broth, Guinness beer, Worcestershire sauce, and thyme to the skillet, bringing it to a simmer.
  7. Return the meatballs to the skillet, cover, and let simmer for 30 minutes.
  8. Transfer the meatballs to a baking dish and pour the gravy over them.
  9. Bake in the oven for 15 minutes until heated through.
  10. Serve hot with your choice of sides.

Notes

  • For a spicier version, add red pepper flakes to the meatball mixture.
  • Serve with mashed potatoes or crusty bread to soak up the gravy.
  • Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
