- 1 cup sugar
- 6 large eggs
- 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
- 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
- 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, melt the sugar over medium heat until it turns golden brown, then pour it into a round baking dish to form the caramel.
- In a blender, combine eggs, sweetened condensed milk, evaporated milk, and vanilla extract. Blend until smooth.
- Pour the mixture over the caramel in the baking dish.
- Place the baking dish in a larger baking pan filled with water (water bath) and bake for about 50-60 minutes.
- Remove from the oven and let it cool, then refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
- To serve, run a knife around the edges and invert onto a plate.
Notes
- Ensure the caramel is not burnt for the best flavor.
- Chill the flan for a longer time for better texture.
- Can be garnished with fresh fruit or whipped cream if desired.
