- 1 package of frozen pierogi (cheese and potato)
- 1 pound kielbasa, sliced
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
- In a skillet, melt butter over medium heat and sauté the diced onion until translucent.
- Add the sliced kielbasa to the skillet and cook until browned.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the frozen pierogi, followed by half of the kielbasa mixture, and half of the cheddar cheese.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining pierogi, kielbasa, and cheese.
- Spread sour cream on top of the final layer.
- Cover the dish with aluminum foil and bake for 30 minutes.
- Remove the foil and bake for an additional 15 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden.
Notes
- Feel free to add other vegetables like bell peppers or mushrooms for extra flavor.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator before baking.
- Serve with a side of sauerkraut for a traditional touch.
