A deliciously rich and comforting dessert made with bread, eggs, and a whiskey caramel sauce that adds a delightful twist.
Ingredients

- 4 cups of stale bread, cubed
- 2 cups of milk
- 1 cup of heavy cream
- 4 large eggs
- 1 cup of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 cup of raisins (optional)
- 1/2 cup of whiskey
- 1 cup of brown sugar (for caramel sauce)
- 1/2 cup of butter (for caramel sauce)
- 1/2 cup of heavy cream (for caramel sauce)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, combine the stale bread cubes, milk, and heavy cream. Let it soak for about 30 minutes.
- In another bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, vanilla extract, cinnamon, and whiskey.
- Mix the egg mixture into the soaked bread mixture until well combined.
- If using, fold in the raisins.
- Pour the mixture into a greased baking dish.
- Bake for 45-50 minutes or until the top is golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- While the pudding is baking, prepare the whiskey caramel sauce by melting the brown sugar and butter in a saucepan over medium heat.
- Once melted, carefully stir in the heavy cream and whiskey, and let it simmer for a few minutes until thickened.
- Serve the bread pudding warm, drizzled with whiskey caramel sauce.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use a combination of different types of bread.
- Can be served with vanilla ice cream for added indulgence.
- Store leftovers in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
