These Halloween Vampire Bite Cupcakes are a spooky treat filled with a gory surprise that will delight your guests at any Halloween party.


Ingredients

  • 1 box chocolate cake mix
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1 cup water
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup red jelly (for the ‘blood’)
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • Red food coloring
  • Chocolate syrup (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
  3. Pour the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
  4. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
  5. Once cooled, use a small knife to cut a hole in the center of each cupcake and remove a small piece of cake.
  6. Fill the hole with red jelly to create the ‘blood’ effect.
  7. In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  8. Add red food coloring to the frosting to achieve a blood-red color.
  9. Frost the cupcakes with the red frosting, covering the jelly-filled hole.
  10. Drizzle chocolate syrup on top for a gory effect.
