These Halloween Vampire Bite Cupcakes are a spooky treat filled with a gory surprise that will delight your guests at any Halloween party.

- 1 box chocolate cake mix
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup water
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 1 cup red jelly (for the ‘blood’)
- 1 cup butter, softened
- 4 cups powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- Red food coloring
- Chocolate syrup (for decoration)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
- In a large bowl, combine the chocolate cake mix, eggs, water, and vegetable oil. Mix until smooth.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about 2/3 full.
- Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let cool completely.
- Once cooled, use a small knife to cut a hole in the center of each cupcake and remove a small piece of cake.
- Fill the hole with red jelly to create the ‘blood’ effect.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy. Gradually add powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
- Add red food coloring to the frosting to achieve a blood-red color.
- Frost the cupcakes with the red frosting, covering the jelly-filled hole.
- Drizzle chocolate syrup on top for a gory effect.
Notes
- For a more intense flavor, consider adding a splash of almond extract to the frosting.
- These cupcakes can be made a day in advance; just frost them on the day of serving.
- Store any leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
