Description

Guinness Chocolate Brownies with Sea Salt and Espresso Caramel are rich, fudgy brownies infused with the deep flavor of Guinness beer, topped with a luscious espresso caramel and a sprinkle of sea salt.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup Guinness beer
  • 1/2 cup chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup espresso
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar (for caramel)
  • Sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt the butter and stir in the granulated and brown sugars until combined.
  3. Remove from heat and let cool slightly before whisking in the eggs.
  4. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cocoa powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, then stir in the Guinness and chocolate chips.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and bake for 25-30 minutes.
  7. While the brownies are baking, prepare the espresso caramel by heating the sugar in a saucepan until it melts and turns golden brown.
  8. Remove from heat and carefully stir in the heavy cream and espresso until smooth.
  9. Once the brownies are done, let them cool before drizzling with the espresso caramel and sprinkling with sea salt.
