- 1 can (14.5 oz) of diced tomatoes
- 1 cup of chicken broth
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon of fresh basil, chopped (optional)
Instructions
- In a skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the chopped onion and sauté until translucent.
- Stir in the minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
- Add the diced tomatoes (with juice) and chicken broth to the skillet.
- Stir in the sugar, salt, and pepper.
- Bring the mixture to a simmer and let it cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- If desired, add fresh basil before serving.
