- 8 slices of bread
- 8 oz cream cheese, softened
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
- 1 tsp vanilla extract
- 1 egg
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 cup breadcrumbs
- Oil for frying
Instructions
- In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- Spread the cream cheese mixture on 4 slices of bread.
- Top with sliced strawberries and cover with the remaining slices of bread to form sandwiches.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the egg and milk.
- Dip each sandwich into the egg mixture, then coat with breadcrumbs.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Fry each sandwich until golden brown on both sides, about 2-3 minutes per side.
- Remove from the pan and drain on paper towels.
- Serve warm, optionally dusted with powdered sugar.
