- 1 cup dark chocolate chips
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter
- 3/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 3 large eggs
- 1/2 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
- Melt the chocolate chips and butter together in a double boiler or microwave, stirring until smooth.
- Remove from heat and stir in the sugar, salt, and vanilla extract.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
- Sift in the cocoa powder and mix until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 25 minutes or until the cake has set but is still moist in the center.
- Allow to cool before removing from the pan and serving.
Notes
- Serve with whipped cream or fresh berries for added flavor.
- This cake can be made a day in advance and stored in the refrigerator.
