Delicious and easy-to-make red velvet cookies topped with a Hershey’s chocolate kiss.

- 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- Hershey’s chocolate kisses, for topping
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
- In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
- Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
- Immediately press a Hershey’s chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie after removing from the oven.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a more intense chocolate flavor, you can increase the cocoa powder slightly.
- Make sure to let the cookies cool before storing them to maintain their texture.
- These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
