Description

Delicious and easy-to-make red velvet cookies topped with a Hershey’s chocolate kiss.


Ingredients

  • 2 1/4 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon cocoa powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
  • 1 1/2 cups granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tablespoon red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Hershey’s chocolate kisses, for topping

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a bowl, whisk together flour, cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, cream the softened butter and sugar until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the egg, red food coloring, and vanilla extract to the butter mixture and mix well.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients and mix until combined.
  6. Roll the dough into small balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  7. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the edges are set.
  8. Immediately press a Hershey’s chocolate kiss into the center of each cookie after removing from the oven.
  9. Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.

Notes

  • For a more intense chocolate flavor, you can increase the cocoa powder slightly.
  • Make sure to let the cookies cool before storing them to maintain their texture.
