Description
A simple and delicious recipe for a comforting pierogi casserole made in a crock pot.
Ingredients

- 1 package frozen pierogies (about 16 oz)
- 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup sour cream
- 1 can cream of mushroom soup (10.5 oz)
- 1 medium onion, diced
- 2 tablespoons butter
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- In a skillet, melt butter and sauté the diced onion until translucent.
- In a bowl, mix together the sour cream and cream of mushroom soup.
- Layer half of the frozen pierogies in the bottom of the crock pot.
- Spread half of the sour cream mixture over the pierogies.
- Sprinkle half of the sautéed onions and half of the cheddar cheese on top.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients.
- Cover and cook on low for 4-6 hours or until the pierogies are heated through and the cheese is melted.
Notes
- Feel free to add cooked bacon or sausage for extra flavor.
- Can substitute cream of mushroom soup with cream of chicken if desired.
- For a vegetarian option, ensure the pierogies are meat-free.
