- 8 oz elbow macaroni
- 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 3 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions; drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat.
- Add the flour and whisk for about 1 minute to create a roux.
- Gradually add the milk, whisking continuously until the mixture thickens.
- Stir in the garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper.
- Add the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan cheese, stirring until melted and smooth.
- Combine the cheese sauce with the cooked macaroni and mix well.
- Transfer to a baking dish and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 20-25 minutes until bubbly and golden on top.
Notes
- For a spicier version, add diced jalapeños or a dash of hot sauce.
- Feel free to mix in cooked bacon or ham for added flavor.
- This dish can be made ahead of time and baked just before serving.
