Ingredients

  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 3/4 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary, thyme, or oregano)
  • Coarse sea salt for topping

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, combine warm water, sugar, and yeast. Let it sit for 5-10 minutes until frothy.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine flour and salt.
  3. Add the yeast mixture and olive oil to the flour mixture. Stir until a dough forms.
  4. Knead the dough on a floured surface for about 5-7 minutes until smooth.
  5. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1-2 hours until doubled in size.
  6. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  7. Transfer the dough to a greased baking sheet and stretch it out to fit the pan.
  8. Use your fingers to create dimples in the dough, then drizzle with olive oil and sprinkle with herbs and coarse sea salt.
  9. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and crispy.
  10. Let it cool slightly before slicing and serving.
