Description

Coquito is a traditional Puerto Rican holiday drink that is a creamy, coconut-based eggnog, perfect for festive celebrations.


Ingredients

  • 1 can (13.5 oz) coconut milk
  • 1 can (12 oz) evaporated milk
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 1 cup white rum
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 cup shredded coconut (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a blender, combine coconut milk, evaporated milk, sweetened condensed milk, white rum, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and ground nutmeg.
  2. Blend until smooth and well combined.
  3. If desired, add shredded coconut and pulse a few times to incorporate.
  4. Pour the mixture into a bottle or jar and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, preferably overnight.
  5. Serve chilled, garnished with a sprinkle of cinnamon or nutmeg if desired.

Notes

  • Coquito can be made ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator for up to a week.
  • Adjust the amount of rum to taste for a stronger or milder drink.
  • For a non-alcoholic version, omit the rum and add extra coconut milk.
