Description

Classic Tiramisu is a delicious no-bake Italian dessert made with layers of coffee-soaked ladyfingers and a rich mascarpone cheese mixture.


Ingredients

  • 6 egg yolks
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2/3 cup milk
  • 1 1/4 cups heavy cream
  • 1 cup mascarpone cheese
  • 1 cup brewed coffee, cooled
  • 1 package ladyfingers
  • Cocoa powder for dusting

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, whisk together egg yolks and sugar until pale and creamy.
  2. Heat milk in a saucepan and gradually whisk it into the egg mixture.
  3. Cook the mixture over low heat until it thickens, then let it cool.
  4. In another bowl, whip the heavy cream until stiff peaks form.
  5. Fold the mascarpone cheese into the cooled egg mixture, then gently fold in the whipped cream.
  6. Dip ladyfingers in the cooled coffee and layer them in a dish.
  7. Spread half of the mascarpone mixture over the ladyfingers.
  8. Add another layer of coffee-dipped ladyfingers and top with the remaining mascarpone mixture.
  9. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight.
  10. Before serving, dust with cocoa powder.

Notes

  • For a stronger coffee flavor, use espresso instead of brewed coffee.
  • Make sure the mascarpone is at room temperature for easier mixing.
  • Allowing the tiramisu to chill overnight enhances the flavors.
