Description

A delicious and versatile cake that combines the flavors of cinnamon rolls with the ease of a cake, perfect for breakfast or dessert.


Ingredients

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla extract
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)
  • 2 tablespoons milk (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13 inch baking dish.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together the milk, melted butter, eggs, and vanilla extract.
  4. Combine the wet and dry ingredients until just mixed.
  5. In a small bowl, mix the brown sugar and cinnamon together.
  6. Pour half of the cake batter into the prepared baking dish and sprinkle half of the cinnamon sugar mixture on top.
  7. Pour the remaining batter over the cinnamon sugar layer and top with the remaining cinnamon sugar mixture.
  8. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. While the cake is baking, prepare the icing by mixing powdered sugar and milk until smooth.
  10. Once the cake is done, drizzle the icing over the warm cake and serve.

  • This cake can be served warm or at room temperature.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
  • For a richer flavor, add chopped nuts or raisins to the batter.
