Delicious chocolate thumbprint cookies filled with your favorite jam or chocolate ganache.

- 1 cup unsalted butter, softened
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1 cup brown sugar, packed
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 3 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup jam or chocolate ganache for filling
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a large bowl, cream together the butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together the flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until just combined.
- Roll the dough into 1-inch balls and place them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
- Using your thumb or the back of a spoon, make an indentation in the center of each ball.
- Fill each indentation with your choice of jam or chocolate ganache.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until the edges are set.
- Allow to cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate cocoa powder.
- These cookies can be stored in an airtight container for up to a week.
- Feel free to experiment with different fillings like peanut butter or Nutella.
