Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 cup corn syrup
- 1/2 cup water
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon cherry extract
- Red food coloring (optional)
Instructions
- In a saucepan, combine sugar, corn syrup, water, and salt over medium heat.

- Remove from heat and stir in cherry extract and food coloring if desired.
- Pour the mixture onto a greased surface and let it cool slightly.
- Once cool enough to handle, knead the taffy until it becomes smooth and elastic.
- Shape the taffy into small pieces or roll it into a log and cut into bite-sized pieces.
- Wrap the pieces in wax paper to keep them fresh.
Notes
- Be careful when handling hot sugar mixtures to avoid burns.
- Store the taffy in an airtight container to maintain freshness.
- Experiment with different flavors by substituting cherry extract with other fruit extracts.
