Description
Capirotada Fácil is a traditional Mexican bread pudding made with layers of bread, cheese, and a sweet syrup, perfect for celebrating Lent or any special occasion.

- 4 cups of bolillo bread, cubed
- 1 cup of brown sugar
- 2 cups of water
- 1 cinnamon stick
- 1 cup of shredded cheese (such as queso fresco or mozzarella)
- 1/2 cup of raisins
- 1/2 cup of chopped nuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- In a saucepan, combine water, brown sugar, and cinnamon stick. Bring to a boil and stir until sugar is dissolved.
- In a baking dish, layer half of the cubed bread, followed by half of the cheese, raisins, and nuts.
- Pour half of the syrup over the layers.
- Repeat the layers with the remaining ingredients, finishing with the syrup on top.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30-40 minutes, or until the top is golden brown.
- Let it cool slightly before serving. Enjoy!
Notes
- For a richer flavor, you can add a splash of vanilla extract to the syrup.
- Feel free to customize the recipe with your favorite nuts or dried fruits.
