  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for icing)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar until smooth.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until well combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing until a dough forms.
  6. Roll out the dough on a floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick.
  7. Cut the dough into rectangles and place half of them on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  8. Place a small spoonful of fruit preserves in the center of each rectangle on the baking sheet.
