- 2 cups brie cheese, rind removed and chopped
- 2 cups milk
- 1/4 cup butter
- 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 tsp garlic powder
- 1/2 tsp onion powder
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1/2 cup breadcrumbs (optional)
Instructions
- Cook the elbow macaroni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- In a saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Stir in the flour and cook for 1-2 minutes until golden.
- Gradually whisk in the milk, stirring constantly until the mixture thickens.
- Add the brie cheese, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and pepper. Stir until the cheese is melted and the sauce is smooth.
- Combine the cooked macaroni with the cheese sauce, mixing well to coat.
- If desired, transfer to a baking dish, top with breadcrumbs, and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden and bubbly.
Notes
- For a richer flavor, consider adding cooked bacon or sautéed mushrooms.
- Feel free to substitute other cheeses for a different taste.
